Joey Oyong

Hi, I’m Joey Oyong — a web developer with a builder’s
mindset and a proven ability to turn complexity into
clarity.
With over a decade of experience in the skilled trades and
recent roles in tech, I bring a rare blend of hands-on problem
solving, technical discipline, and real-world systems
thinking. I transitioned into web development after supporting
enterprise cloud infrastructure at Accenture,
where I worked on high-stakes incident response and production
support in the Azure ecosystem.
Since then, I’ve been focused on developing full-stack
projects that reflect both practical needs and modern best
practices. I design and deploy fast, responsive, and secure
web applications — often self-hosted on my own Raspberry Pi
server — using tools like Flask,
NGINX, WireGuard, and
Git. I’ve built automated deployment
workflows, configured secure remote access, and implemented
backend services to power real user interactions.
What sets me apart is my ability to go beyond tutorials — to
research, adapt, and build things that work in the wild. I
don't just write code — I ship reliable systems, solve
problems under pressure, and bring a craftsman’s mentality to
everything I do.
Core Technical Skills:
JavaScript • HTML5/CSS3 • Python • Flask • Git/GitHub • Bash •
REST APIs • NGINX • Raspberry Pi • WireGuard • Responsive
Design • Azure Production Support
What I’ve Built:
- A self-hosted
portfolio site and contact form, deployed on
Raspberry Pi with Flask, NGINX, and HTTPS
- A WireGuard VPN for secure, remote admin
access
- Custom CLI tools and
file sync workflows using Bash and rsync
- Responsive UI components built with HTML, CSS, and
JavaScript from scratch
Let’s Work Together:
I’m actively seeking opportunities in front-end or full-stack
web development where I can contribute immediately, keep
growing technically, and help deliver software that’s both
beautiful and bulletproof.
Ohm’s Law Calculator
A responsive calculator that solves for voltage, current, resistance, or power using any two known values. Built with vanilla JavaScript and styled with Bootstrap. Runs fully in-browser and hosted on a Raspberry Pi.
Open ToolWire Color Guide
Quickly identify the correct wire color based on system voltage and circuit number. This tool simplifies 3-phase electrical planning for field use. Fully offline-capable and built with pure JavaScript.
Use GuideFishing Conditions Tool
Enter your zip code or city to see if it’s a good day to fish. Uses real-time weather data to provide a simple go/no-go recommendation.
Check ConditionsInfrastructure Spotlight
This entire site is self-hosted on a Raspberry Pi using Flask for the backend, NGINX for reverse proxying, and WireGuard for remote access. It’s secured with HTTPS via Certbot + DuckDNS, and serves real web apps directly from home-grown infrastructure.
